Antique Early 1800's Georgian Stomacher Brooch with Paste Stones.
This is an incredible and rarely encountered piece comprised of a very intricate and elongated brooch in three floral and sprig pattern sections......riveted to a long pin or bar.....embellished with a movable flower head like disc...... set in place with a screw mechanism. The brooch is finished with paste stones meant to mimic rose cut diamonds of the time period. This piece is meant to be worn on the bodice and extend downward on the stomach (hence the name stomacher).
Simple pin back closure with c-clasp.
Brooch is unsigned and unmarked. Silver tone metal (or the remnants of silver plate). European in origin.
Brooch measures 4-1/2 inches long by 1-3/8 inch wide.
There are two paste stones missing (one from the center and just above at left).
Aside for the two missing stones the piece is in very good antique condition. Outstanding!
