Finely Worked Antique Sampler With Owls, Squirrels & People

Here we have a beautiful Victorian linen sampler which has never been framed and is as clean and bright as the day it was worked.

As images show it features numerous birds, squirrels and people in vibrant colour silks, there is even a tiny butterfly and robin.

To the centre we see a flower in a pot with two snowy owls and even a couple of deer to the lower section.

It is dated 1859 and has a full alphabet on two lines in two different sizes and numbers 1-8.

There is loss of thread to the number 9 and a crown device, there are no holes to the sampler.

It is ready to stretcher and frame for display and at present measures 15.75" wide by 17" high.
