Carved Gothic Revival style cabinet, Belgium, early 20th Century



This carved Gothic Revival style cabinet or cupboard, dates to the early 20th Century and was made in Belgium. It features an overhanging rectangular top having Gothic side columns, panels and two doors with arched tabernacle panels and deep relief carved apostles with polychrome background. All above a raised open section with Gothic carved columns, square feet with Gothic corbels. End panels with linen fold design all in quartered oak with laminated back. Overall good condition with a dark brown patina. The sliding lock mechanism is missing from the left door. There are seven 2" diameter holes drilled in the back of this cabinet, as it may have been used at some time for an entertainment center.
