18k Yellow Gold Elgin Timepiece ~ circa 1887 :-

This timepiece, done in 18k yellow gold, is a piece of history as well as highly collectible. The case work on this timepiece is subtle yet elegant. Both sides have almost a woven look to its background and a faux herald on the front. There is a spot on the herald that would suit a monogram. The back is a bouquet of etched flowers. Both sides also have textured etching on the edges. While it could, and probably was, worn for any occasion, it seems that perhaps it belonged to a woman who worked out of the home. Just our opinion.
